"It's a Growl Thing"

This is a blog that focuses on metal, rock & hardcore/punk music. I'll be writing reviews on songs that I like, albums I love and concerts that I enjoyed! You'll find both new and old music here.

Halestorm was formed in 1998 and consists of siblings Arejay (Drums, backing vocals) and Elizabeth “Lzzy” Hale (Vocals, guitars), guitarist Joe Hottinger and bassist Josh Smith. Their first album, Halestorm, was released in 2009 and their second album, The Strange Case Of…, was released in 2012. They won a Grammy for best Hard Rock/Metal Performance in 2013 and have gained a lot of success these past few years.

I Miss The Misery is featured on their latest album, The Strange Case Of…., and is a catchy radio-rock type of song. The song provides a strong chorus mixed with slower parts. The lyrics are about Arejay and Elizabeth “Lzzy” Hale’s parents’ divorce and cover the feeling of missing having someone to fight with. Elizabeth “Lzzy” Hale’s voice really fits the style of Halestorm well. Overall, a great hard rock track. They’ve received heavy air-time on Bandit Rock which is a Swedish rock station.
