Dark Tranquillity was formed in 1989 and are one of the pioneers of the famous “Gothenburg Sound”. The band consists of Mikael Stanne (Vocals), Martin Henriksson (Guitars), Niklas Sundin (Guitars), Anders Jivarp (Drums) and Martin Brändström (Keyboard, programming). Their bassist Daniel Antonsson left the band in 2013. They’ve released nine albums so far and are working on their tenth album which is going to be named Construct and will be released on 27th of May in Europe and on the 28th of May in North America. The intro for this song is epic and very much reflects the “Gothenburg Sound” with melodic and emotional guitars. Mikael Stanne’s dark growl leads the way in this melodical metal song. It’s perhaps not as heavy and fast as Zodijackyl Light but it still definitely has the melodic death metal sound with harmonized guitars, growls and melodical rhythm.
Dark Tranquillity is one of my favorite Swedish metal bands and they’ve produced some really great albums, really looking forward to their new album!
