A Day To Remember was formed in Ocala, Florida in 2003. Their style is typically described as “pop-punk” “metalcore” and “emo-pop”. The band has recorded 4 albums so far and are working on their fifth album called Common Courtesy and the song The Plot to Bomb the Panhandle is from their second album For Those Who Have Heart, which is a pretty damn good album with many good songs such as Speaking Of The Devil, The Danger In Starting a Fire, and A Shot In The Dark. The Plot to Bomb the Panhandle is however my favorite song from the album.
Metal meets pop… kind of? Hard to describe A Day To Remember since they really have their own sound. The song shifts from clean vocals to growling which fits well together. A very easily accessible sound that even non-metal fans can appreciate. The lyrics are well-written and the song has a nice feel to it. I’m usually not a fan of metal that has this much clean vocals on a track. But A Day To Remember really does this well and makes it attractive even for me, I love most of their work and I’m currently looking forward to their new album which should arrive sometime during the spring!
