In Flames was formed by guitarist Jesper Strömblad in 1990. The band was created in Gothenburg and was a big part of the Gothenburg Scene in the 90’s and pretty much helped defining a new genre - Melodic Death Metal. The band consists of singer Anders Fridén, guitarists Björn Gelotte and Niclas Engelin, bassist Peter Iwers and drummer Daniel Svensson. The band has released 10 full-length albums so far, the latest being Sounds of a Playground Fading. The song Discover Me Like Emptiness is however from the Soundtrack To Your Escape album, which was released in 2004.
Discover Me Like Emptiness was released together with the Limited Edition of the album. The song contains a lot of synths and experimental sound. Together with Anders Fridén’s soothing voice and the nice down-tempo style of this song, it creates a unique sound. But for those of you, who love Anders Fridén’s screams, don’t worry. You’ll find that in this song as well. Discover Me Like Emptiness almost feels like a track many In Flames fans don’t know about, almost like a “hidden” track. One of their greater down-tempo tracks.
